New Acres Wild album out September!
“Appropriate Music” is made from the idea that the «extra ordinary» can also become extraordinary. Sometimes what you want isn’t the fastest or the loudest, but the appropriate.
The album is a natural reaction to their previous releases, with their 2017 garage rock flirt Mona, and later, on their 2019 album Patiently, where the music took a more bare-bones direction. In 2020, Acres Wild will run things down the middle, and find the balance between the fast and the slow. The heavy and the light. The up-beat and the somber. The music is made from the idea that good music comes from taking from both sides of the aisle, and that extremes don't necessarily make excellent. The “extra ordinary” can also become extraordinary. Sometimes, what you need isn't the loudest or the fastest to be appropriate. Sometimes it's enough to just be that - Appropriate. Appropriate and highly irresistible three minute guitar pop songs.
The first album single The Sun is Shining gained praise from Clash Magazine and got listed on NRK P3. “Thank goodness for Acres Wild and their divine new single. 'The Sun Is Shining' is exactly the indie pop belter we need in our lives, an exuberant, wholly natural, completely uplifting missive from Norway”. - Clash Magazine
Haley Shea (Sløtface) guests on the duets Nida Beach and The Sun is Shining.
The bands 2016 single Line of Sight was included in Spotify Fresh Finds and reached #13 on the Viral USA Chart!. Their 2017 single Falling Out of Love Again was included in Spotify International Weekly Buzz.
